This board is a fanboard for J.R.R.Tolkiens works in all their forms. This includes the books, as well as any plays, musicals and movies. Below is a helpful guide to posting and making new threads.
When posting in an existing thread
Read through the thread, make sure you understand what the subject of the thread is
Post your views respectfully and politely - no attacking another member of this board
If you're responding to a point made earlier on in the thread please quote the post so members won't be confused about what you're going on about
If you want to talk about something off topic with another member then please send them a private message - it keeps the thread on topic for everyone else to enjoy
There is no need to use 'l33t' or chat speak - this isn't a mobile phone conversastion nor is it a chatroom, there's no time limit and no fast moving conversastions - so please don't use it.
Similarly we have a censor for a reason - don't use symbols to get around it or else you will be faced with a pm from the admin and even a warning.
If you realise all of a sudden you made an error in your post don't double post. Use the modify post button to correct your post.
When creating a new topic
Read the board description and makesure that your posting in the right board before you post.
Read through the existing topics, makesure what your about to post isn't already being discussed
When it comes to typing, especially if you're starting a discussion its important to state your stand point and why. This gives other members something to respond to and cuts down on the dead topics.
Don't use a misleading subject title - you'll get a lot more responses if your subject titles are clear to understand.
