Your favourite part in the movies - why « Thread Started on Jul 17, 2008, 7:58am »
What part did you enjoy the most, why did you enjoy it so much?
My favourite part in hindsight was possibly at Weathertop. Where Frodo was shown fighting against the evil urges of the ring. It showed how much of a battle the ring was to not give in to the 'want' or the 'need' to wear it in an attempt to escape.
It gave you a feel for the strength of will and the burden that ring was. It also showed there was a price to using such an item. In this case Frodo ended up getting stabbed by a Nazgul blade when he slipped the ring on in an attempt to escape.
It also reinforced the different 'characters' that were present. Frodo the ringbearer although young had a strength of will but that was defeated. Sam although scared was also loyal to his 'master'. Strider was more then he appeared clearly knowledgeable about the Nazgul and their weapons. Pippin and Merry did their best in the face of evil as they continued doing.
Finally the music suited the happenings giving the atmosphere of tension and adrenaline enabling you to 'feel' what was happening as well as see it.

Ride of the Rohirrim - no explanation needed.
The Hobbits returning to The Shire - thanks to Billy Boyd's tales of all the problems between Hobbits and Ponies. What with allergies, unruly horses and bad moods that bit always makes me laugh.

I guess the ponies and horses didn't want hobbits riding them incase they got squished

Lol something like that. Billy couldn't stop laughing. Dominic was allergic. Elijah couldn't control his. Sean was in a foul mood. IIRC. It's in the commentaries.

My favorite part in Fellowship of the Ring would have to be Moria. It was captured perfectly. Second favorite would be the beginning with the Shire, followed by the Battle of Amon Hen.
